I tried plugging my headphones into the computer, but I don't get any sound at all. ![]() I made sure the FX is turned on in Rakarrack, so I know that's not the problem. The problem is that I can't get the Rakarrack effects to work. My headphones are plugged into the Lexicon Alpha interface and I can hear sound through the headphones, the meters move in Rakarrack, and the meters move in Ardour and I can record in Ardour. Anyway, I start Jack and then open Rakarrack and Ardour. ![]() I am using a Lexicon Alpha usb interface that is recognized by Ubuntu. I want to record my guitar to the computer and use rakarrack for effects. I downloaded and installed Ardour and Rakarrack. So open a linux terminal and type: ``sudo cpufreq-set -g performance -r``Īlthough Ardour 3 lacks of some features it is a nice piece of software. It allows you to set the cores of your CPU at its best performance. If you use a laptop running Linux, pay atention to cpufreq-set. To the bass and electric guitar I record real instruments trough the audio interface. ![]() Ardour adds a red background to the tracks being recorded. When the tracks are armed you can start/stop recording with the space bar. To start/stop recording on a track you have to click the big red button at the control bar and the track record buttons of the tracks you are going to record on. Once you have created the drum pattern you have to activate song mode and jack transport (blue buttons will turn on) to set the priority of the transport to Ardour. To get the matix you have to click in the button under the track name, in the vertical strip. You can set the inputs of your tracks using the I/O matrix. To add a new track you can go to the track menu or use a shortcut. I’m going to use five mono tracks, named as follows:
