12/12/2023 0 Comments Cal expo sacramento![]() Kids running around in mobs at night thru our camp site no adequate security. Power was popping the entire duration of our stay. After having already made the trip we made it work. We were told take it or leave after making a reservation. We were put in a concrete spot meant for a much smaller rig with only 30 amp power. This location is ran by volunteers who are to use the words rude and disrespectful would be a understatement. I would leave less stars if possible and I won't be returning to this poorly ran RV pit stop. ![]() For travelers visiting family in Sacramento, taking part in the state fair or other in-town events, or traveling for business in the city, CalExpo is a good choice.… For someone who doesn't need urban proximity, there are some state park campgrounds with full hookups around Folsom Lake, about 20 miles away, as well as other campgrounds further away in the Gold Country foothills. An internet search turns up lots of "RV parks" in Sacramento but after visiting a number, I realized they tend to be older mobile home parks that will rent vacant spaces to RV's on a daily, weekly or monthly basis but cater to long-term residents rather than travelers. CalExpo is one of only two RV campgrounds I could find in Sacramento (the other is the more expensive Sac-West RV Park & Campground). It is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and shopping, as well as being about a half mile from a regional shopping mall. The park does have a liberal change/cancellation policy. Because of its location, the RV park fills up during the state fair and some other events, so reservations are advisable. Homeless people camp in the woods but mostly stay out of sight and don't seem to bother anyone. Joggers and walkers also frequent the paths. Paved pathways extending for miles draw a considerable number of cyclists for both exercise and commuting. Next to the park is the American River Parkway, a scenic preserve and flood control area. Nestled behind the fairgrounds, the RV park is away from through traffic. Since the vast majority of guests have dogs, this area is quite well used. ![]() An hour a week of attention from a landscaper could turn this into a really nice dog park. About a third of the dog park is grass (that gets mowed infrequently) while the rest is dirt and weeds. The sizable dog park has two large shade trees, two benches that need varnish, and water. Bathrooms/showers are kept stocked with soap, paper towels and TP, but could use some deep cleaning, paint and better lighting. Since it is operated by CalExpo, the state fairgrounds, it depends on CalExpo's maintenance department. Maintenance is the park's greatest weakness. As a result, guests tend to be friendly travelers. It's intended for short term stays, up to a month, and doesn't allow older RV's without approval. Plusses: - Good central location - Adjacent to American River Parkway with scenic bike/walking paths - Quiet, well away from traffic noise - Some shaded and paved spaces - Sizable space with adequate parking - RV's only no mobile homes - Large dog park - Electric is included, not metered - Patrolled frequently by CalExpo Police - Friendly office staff Minuses: - Somewhat pricey - Needs better maintenance - 30-day maximum stay - No clubhouse or community activities - Wifi only accessible in the office Despite the name, CalExpo RV Park is a campground rather than a mobile home park that also takes RV's.

I didn’t have any blogger friends and that was really hard on me (I’m a people person). I constantly reached out to brands, publications, and pr firms and spent all of my time blogging to the beat of my own drum.Īlthough I was doing my own thing, I still felt alone in the blogger community. I strayed from typical methods of growing (basically every method you could read about on the internet at the time) and developed my own ways of building a community and following. Although I still struggled with shooting sans sunglasses, I did my best to get good shots despite loosing this security blanket. I stopped stalking other bloggers and started looking for inspiration within. It didn’t happen over night but I gradually started to shed the sunnies, show my face (and personality), and dress outside the lines. I quickly realized that if I wanted to be successful, there were a lot of unknowns, but I was sure of one thing – if I was going to spend my nights, mornings, lunch breaks and weekends working on Color Me Courtney, the brand I was going to build had to be 100% unapologetically me. ![]() I was putting all of my energy into working from 9-5 and keeping up this blogger charade in my free time. I bought the sunglasses they wore, attempted to re-create outfits that emulated their style and tried (and failed) at perfecting their poses … I was miserable, and not at all me.Īfter about two weeks I was exhausted. I found and followed big bloggers then started mimicking their outfits, Instagram aesthetic, and photography. I went into it as I do most things – by studying. To be honest, I didn’t really think I could have a full time job as a blogger – I thought I would always have both, a full-time job and CMC. When I decided to turn Color Me Courtney into a business and a brand, influencer marketing wasn’t anything like it is now. I had just attended my first Fashion Week and started my first day at Coach, when I decided to turn my blog into a business (before then, I had only used it as a resume boosting tool to show potential employers that, despite having degrees in business and an MBA, I had a real interest in fashion). ![]() I had about 1K followers on Instagram – consisting mostly of people I had gone to high school with. Today we’re traveling back in time as I share some of my history and growth over the past few years. I don’t do this to be mean or to keep secrets but because “how to grow on Instagram” isn’t a question I can answer… but, if you’re interested in building a brand – and finding your own place in the industry – then I can help you … here’s my story. I get so many questions about how to grow on Instagram or become a full time blogger and to be honest, I don’t answer them. 12/11/2023 0 Comments Dnd forgotten realms selling products![]()
